Students Code of Conduct

  • Arrive at least ten minutes early to allow a proper orientation before class begins.
  • Upon entering our center, remove shoes, throw out gum, sign in legibly, and handle any payments.
  • Practice on an empty stomach. We recommend that you wait at least two to three hours after eating to practice yoga. If eating is a necessity, choose something light, or drink a glass of juice.
  • Drink lots of water in the 24 hours prior to class. Dehydration will negatively affect your experience. The room is heated to approximately 80 degrees.
  • Dress in non-restrictive clothing that allows you to move comfortably and sweat freely. Wear clothing that exposes your ankles, knees, elbows, and shoulders. Doing so will allow you and your teacher to observe your joints and help you deepen your practice.
  • Purchase a yoga mat. Not all yoga mats are created equal, so we recommend that you purchase your mat at our center.
  • Please be aware of personal hygiene. Be mindful of air quality in a hot room. Deodorant is recommended but strong perfumes and colognes are not. It is also essential to wash your yoga mat regularly.
  • Bring a towel.
  • Alert the teacher to any injuries prior to class so he or she can provide any needed modifications to the postures. This is for your safety and the longevity of your practice.
  • Enter the yoga room in silence. Use the time before class for meditation or gentle stretching. Refrain from talking during class. It is disruptive and disrespectful to the teacher.
  • If you have questions for the teacher, refrain from asking them during the class. Honest Yoga teachers will make themselves available after class for any questions or concerns.
  • If you arrive late, please enter the room quietly. Never enter or leave the room during the meditation or the final reclining posture.
  • Set your mat up within the designated marks on the floor to provide maximum mirror space for all students.
  • Refrain from doing postures or variations other than the ones the teacher is instructing. Please do not skip postures.
  • Acknowledge your limitations. With regular practice, good alignment, and proper breathing, you are well on your way to healing.
  • If you are not feeling well during class, recline on your back. Please make every effort to stay in the room until the end of class.
  • Attention to detail is often the gateway into depths and richness of experience. Yoga is more than a series of physical poses; it is a state of mind and a lifestyle.
  • It is a respect for the space and people around you.
  • It is an attitude of humility and service.
  • It is a graceful presence and generous spirit.Thank you for observing our code of conduct.
  • We wish you a wonderful class!NamasteThe Sanskrit word Namaste, said in both greeting and departing, offers love, passion, service, and respect. By bringing these qualities to our practice, we honor the true spirit of yoga.

All practices ( except kids & prenatal ) are heated to 90 degrees with 40-50% humidity.
